I can find lots of posts all over the web about how much people love them and i do find they fit over my windows perfectly without any cutting to size. Roll the blind up and down several times. What you need to do is to put a strip of masking tape on the roller shaft where the material is attached at the end that you want the blind to roll back too.

If the blind is rolling to one side then you can adjust this. If the shade hangs. Let the blind right down till you can see the where the fabric is fastened to the roll shaft. If after troubleshooting this you find it not to be the case it may be an issue with the pawl.

Remove the blind from the hanging brackets. If your blinds won t raise or lower the problem is most likely due to a malfunction of the cord lock mechanism. Using a toothpick and some compressed air remove any debris or dust around the ratchet. Determine the source of the shade s problem.

Take the roll up blinds down to gain access to the ratchet mechanism. Clean out the ratchet and pawl with a vacuum. Remove it from the brackets. If this does not work the pawl must be released follow these easy steps.
